One of the key purposes of having a  is mainly for the security of everybody and everything

For the protection and security of your business and family, remember the primary objective of having CCTV is to secure and protect from upcoming unwanted events record whatever might occur. And for these system devices to work properly, you need to make some configurations and monitor and maintain them well. Setting up a Video Surveillance Systems won’t work successfully if you don’t personally update and monitor it.

Video Surveillance Systems

1. Update the existing computer network into an IP based system

IP based cameras work by turning images and audio into data then transmitting this data over a network or Internet connection. The ultimate benefit of this over analogue CCTV systems is greater flexibility, better performance and easier installation. This is one of the ways to reduce your CCTV costs. To do this, you will need IP cameras, which can be installed into your computer network like any other computer device. IP based system provides you greater monitoring flexibility and better camera performance. This will not only help you reduce your installation costs but it will also help you take advantage of the advances in IP CCTV cameras. Also have standby personnel that monitors and store the recorded clips.

2. Adjust the lighting conditions

Adding more light and reducing the amount of backlight or glare is very helpful. Images are products of light. Generally, the better the light, the better the image quality will be. And the more detail you want to see – the better the lighting conditions have to be. Adjusting the lighting conditions of areas you want to monitor is important to provide you a clearer view of what happens to the areas every minute. If there’s something bad that will happen you will be informed right away.

3. Install wisely in unnoticeable location

Aside from lighting conditions, the placement of the CCTV cameras must be wisely planned too. Install them at the uppermost side of ceilings and hallways where it can capture the whole area you want to survey. Install them at higher areas and must not be overshadowed. Install them on areas that are not easily noticeable so that the crowd and people with hidden agenda won’t be conscious of their movements.

4. Protect business from electrical loss, spikes and surges

Have a standby generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for unpredictable events such as electrical loss, spikes and surges. Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) prevents recorded data losses and continue to keep eye on your business during day or night. The UPS will now supply the recorder with operating power during an outage or if the electric grid should go down. Be sure to get a UPS with enough capability to supply the recorder, NVR, DVR, camera power supply/switch and monitor. The UPS will temporarily stop the system in shutting down while the backup generator will continue to supply the electricity.

5. Capable of Remotely monitor employees, vendors and customers

IP based CCTV systems do not require local recording, they can transmit their images across Local Networks, the Internet and Wide Area Networks to a central location, where they can be recorded, viewed and managed. Through these, owners can monitor their employees, vendors and customers from off-site locations. They can continue to oversee and control production even away from the office. That’s why it is very important that your system gives you the ability to view your cameras remotely from anywhere you have internet access. Home owners with CCTV system also used these remotely monitor their home when they leave for a long vacation.

6. Can be used to collect statistics and further data

The recorded CCTV footages can be used to improve all aspects of a company. A company is able to review the production area, stock inventory and shipment if there is something suspicious going on. They can plan solutions and develop preventive measures to mitigate the problem.  Video analytics can provide amazing amounts of relevant data to improve a business’s performance.

Just like any devices CCTV system needs some upgrades in order to adjust to the needs of customers and continue providing better service. Business CCTV system helps businesses serve better their customers, detect employee dishonesty and prevent small or big crimes that may arise. They use them also to observe reception or waiting areas for efficient customer service and view a live stream online of their business activity.
